Although it has been many years since I have seen any of the members of this family, they have remained in my heart. My parents had kept in touch with them and had even gotten fruit from Brother Coppage over the past years. Jennie and I were very good friends during their time in Bloomingdale. We would spend the night at each other's house, have pajama parties, and we were even in GAs together. My daddy and Brother Coppage both loved gardening. Daddy always had a vegetable garden and would deliver vegetables to the elderly and shut-ins from the church. In fact, he was working in the garden when he died unexpectedly of a heart attack in February 2006. When daddy turned 70 years old in May 2003 I presented him with a 100-page scrapbook of his life that I put together. When he died, I wanted to complete the scrapbook with memories of him from his family and friends. I sent a letter to Brother Coppage asking him to contribute his memories, and he sent me a very nice one-page letter and signed it. One of the things he said in the letter was, "I believe I will see him on my resurrection day as the Lord promised." I believe that too. I know daddy will meet him at the pearly gates and welcome him into heaven.

Linda Smith Davislsd01https://www.blogger.com/profile/16770403648491260958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7614033223511325587.post-27027242774269697452010-03-29T20:40:10.427-04:002010-03-29T20:40:10.427-04:00That comment was from your wife ~ written under Em...That comment was from your wife ~ written under Emily's account.
